The US Division of Justice has knowledgeable the state of Texas that it intends to file a authorized motion towards the location of floating obstacles within the Rio Grande as a part of the state’s operation alongside the Texas-Mexico border.

The Division of Justice despatched the letter to the governor of Texas, Greg Abbott, this Thursday though there’s time for the state to reply, as reported by CNN.

“The actions of the State of Texas violate federal regulation, elevate humanitarian considerations, current severe dangers to public security and the setting, and should intervene with the power of the federal authorities to hold out its official duties,” the letter explains, citing a provision of the regulation that “prohibits the creation of any obstruction to the navigable capability of the waters of america, and additional prohibits the development of any construction in such waters with out the authorization of america Military Corps of Engineers.”

That is separate from the continuing evaluation of migrant mistreatment, which the Justice Division has described as “troubling stories.”

“Texas has the sovereign authority to defend our border, beneath the Structure of america and the Structure of Texas,” Abbott stated on his Twitter account.
